What is Manufacturing Process?
Manufacturing Process is defined as a sequence of actions that are taken for transforming raw materials into finished products by using resources like men, machines and money.
Let me explain this in a very simple way.
Tha manufacturing process has two words.

First of all let us understand what these two terms actually mean.
After that it will be very easy to understand the definition of manufacturing process.
Manufacturing is simply a transformation of raw materials into other different forms (known as products) by using resources like men, machines and money which satisfies the human needs.
Process simply means doing things to the materials that will produce a final product.
Process is defined as a sequence of actions that are required to produce a final product.
Manufacturing + Process = Manufacturing Process
Hence, Manufacturing process is defined as a sequence of actions that are taken for transforming raw materials into finished products by using resources like men, machines and money.
The manufactured products have more added value as compared to that of the raw materials. And these manufactured products satisfy human needs.

Why is Manufacturing Important?
The importance of manufacturing is mentioned below.
#1) Manufacturing is important as it refers to the range of human activity from handicrafts to high tech activities. Generally, manufacturing is associated with the industrial process in which raw materials are transformed into finished products on a large scale.
#2) The goods which are produced in the manufacturing industries can be used for manufacturing of other complex products such as air crafts, automobiles, etc.
#3) Also the manufactured products are sold to while sellers who sell those products to the retailers and finally the retailers sell those products to the end users (the customers).
#4) Manufacturing is important as it takes turns under all types of economic systems.
#5) In a free market economy, manufacturing is focused towards the mass production of the products which can be sold to the customers and profits can be generated through it.
#6) In a collectivist economy, manufacturing is generally directed by the state to supply a centrally planned economy.
#7) While in a mixed market economy, manufacturing is done under some degree of government regulations.
#8) In any manufacturing industry, there is a close connection with engineers as well as industrial designs.
#9) In North America, major manufacturing industries are General Dynamics, General Motors Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, Precision cast parts, etc.
#10) Examples of manufacturing firms in Europe include Siemens, Volkswagen group, etc. While in Asia, the manufactures are Toyota, Samsung, Bridgestone, and many more.
#11) The economist has also said that the manufacturing sector is the wealth-producing sector for the country.
#12) Various newly developed technologies have now given a new growth in advanced manufacturing employment opportunities in countries like India, United States, United Kingdom, China and other developing countries too.
#13) Also the important material support for the national defense and national infrastructure is fulfilled by the Manufacturing industries.
#14) In developed countries, the manufacturing activity is regulated by labour laws and environmental laws.
